Our Ministers
Dr.
Andrea Asebedo
Pastor & Senior Minister
The Spiritual Enrichment Center was
originally known as the Redding Church of Religious Science and was
founded by a previous minister in 1975. Dr. Andrea has been with the
Spiritual Enrichment Center since her arrival in Redding in 1981 serving
as co-pastor until 2003 when she became the sole pastor and senior
minister renaming the church as the Spiritual Enrichment Center.
Andrea is the mother of three adult girls and one boy. Dr. Andrea’s
husband, Joe Asebedo, is active in the community co-presenting
workshops, facilitating retreats and working closely with special groups
and projects.
Andrea has a master’s degree in counseling psychology and is a graduate
of National University-Redding. Andrea has served on several board of
directors for nonprofit organizations and services clubs. She has
facilitated a number of special community projects including a 10-week
cancer group for television. In addition, Andrea is a speaker,
facilitator, educator, writer and community leader.
Ministry: Dr. Andrea has been a Licensed Practitioner of
Religious Science since 1980 and a minister of Religious Science since
1984. Dr. Andrea is the Pastor of the Spiritual Enrichment Center of
Redding. She received an honorary doctorate from Religious Science
International for her work with the Youth of Religious Science. Dr.
Andrea is also an ordained minister of Religious Science. All ordained
ministers of Religious Science hold the ministerial designation for
life, a special recognition of the consciousness and "calling" in one's
life for spiritual service and practice.
Dr. Andrea also serves as the mentor and supervisor for the staff
ministers, and for the Center's practitioner program. Like all ministers
of Religious Science, Dr. Andrea officiates at weddings, christenings,
funerals and other special pastoral events.
Dr. Andrea has served with Religious Science International as Assistant
Director of Youth for more than 20 years. For two years, she served as
the Director of Youth. In 2004, Dr. Andrea spearheaded the creation of
new curriculum for the children and youth programs of Religious Science
International. In addition, she has served on the Board of Directors for
Religious Science International. Dr. Andrea is also one of the
contributing writers for Redding's Record Searchlight Religion section
of the Saturday newspaper “Voices of Faith” which appears weekly.

Rev. Sue MillerBorn
Assistant
Minister
Reverend Sue MillerBorn
is a registered nurse who has worked at Shasta Regional Medical Center
since 1977. She currently is enjoying her work there as a recovery room
nurse. She is a certified yoga instructor in both Hatha Yoga and Cardiac
Yoga. Sue currently teaches yoga classes at the Spiritual Enrichment
Center on Mondays and Wednesdays and shares in retreats throughout the
year. Sue has been a member of Religious Science since the 1980s. She
became a Licensed Practitioner in 2001 and completed a course of study
in Ministry with Religious Science in July 2003.
Ministry: Sue's area of ministry is focused on leadership of the
Peace Center at the Spiritual Enrichment Center which is affiliated with
Religious Science International's Peace Centers. She also serves as the
minister facilitating the women’s group, the Sacred Sisters, which meets
the second Monday of each month at 7 PM - 8:30 PM. Sue works closely
with Sandy Babcock, Registered Nurse and member of the Spiritual
Enrichment Center, who serves as a designated Registered Parish Nurse
encouraging health and wellness in the community. Sue also teaches
Science of Mind classes throughout the year. Along with Dr. Andrea
Asebedo and Rev Lynn E. Fritz, Sue is a co-chair of "The Season for
Nonviolence," an annual event which recognizes the work of Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr and Gandhi.
Sue has office hours from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Wednesdays. Appointments
can be made through the office by calling 221-4849. It is Rev. Sue’s
intention to be available to serve the community as needs arise both in
spiritual counseling and coaching. She will also be attending to ongoing
projects at the church to assist Dr. Andrea in the church vision to
reach out and serve the community in a greater way. Sue is scheduled
once a month to speak on Sunday.

Rev.
Mary Mitchell
Staff Minister
Rev. Mary has been a member of the
Center since 1989. In her work life, she is the District Manager of the
Western Shasta Resource Conservation District, a grant-funded
not-for-profit organization with 23 employees dedicated to stream and
fisheries restoration, habitat restoration for wildlife and songbirds,
fuels reduction and erosion control. Reverend Mary has been a Licensed
Practitioner with the church since 1994 and a Minister of Religious
Science since March 2002. She was ordained in March 2008.
Ministry: Reverend Mary’s
area of focus is Pastoral Care for congregants and friends of SEC,
teaching Science of Mind classes, facilitating the monthly Wisdom
Sharing group, and recording a weekly message and
prayer/treatment on the HEAL Line, which can be reached at 221-HEAL
(221-4325). Rev. Mary coordinates the Practitioner Group at the center,
which includes both licensed and intern practitioners. She is available
by appointment to do prayer/treatment and spiritual counseling.

Rev.
Lynn E. Fritz
Staff Minister
Lynn is a Native American tribal descendant of the Karuk Tribe of
California who moved to Redding in 1982. Employed in the timber
industry for over 16 years, Lynn has also worked in the field of
media in the corporate, nonprofit and private business sectors for
more than 15 years and, currently, serves as a Media Consultant
under the name of Lynn Productions. Lynn produces all forms of
electronic media for TV and radio including commercials, remote,
field and studio productions for TV and special projects.
Lynn is also a Marriage, Family Therapist, MFC #45877, serving
children, individuals, couples and families in private practice in
Redding. Lynn's work focuses on working with post-traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD), eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR),
grief, life enrichment and spirituality. Lynn is a member of the
state and local chapters of the California Marriage, Family
Therapists Association and currently serves the local chapter as
Program Coordinator. In addition, Lynn is an adjunct faculty member
of National University, Redding, teaching multicultural
competencies.
Through private consulting and, often times on a voluntary basis,
Lynn serves as a teacher, moderator and facilitator. She is a
certified grant writer and has extensive experience in teaching
media literacy, TV/video production for adults and children, and
other classes related to television production.
Lynn has a background in various faith paths and incorporates such
into her counseling practice, ministry and life work. Lynn also has
specialized training and experience in financial planning, cancer
support groups, family violence prevention and community resources.
Lynn has also served on the Think Pink committee for elevan years.
Lynn became affiliated with the Spiritual Enrichment Center in the
early 1990's and became a member in 1996. Lynn has previously served
as the Music Director of the Spiritual Enrichment Center. Lynn
became a Licensed Practitioner and a licensed Staff Minister in 2003
at the Spiritual Enrichment Center.
Ministry: As Community Outreach Minister of the
Spiritual Enrichment Center, Reverend Lynn is responsible for the
development of community projects, special guest presenters,
oversight of the website, and publicity along with other special
projects. Reverend Lynn works in conjunction with Rev. Sue
MillerBorn and Dr. Andrea Asebedo on presentation of "A Season of
Nonviolence" annual events. Reverend Lynn also serves as the
Spiritual Enrichment Center's representative on the Shasta County
Interfaith Forum and is presently the Chairperson of that same
forum. Reverend Lynn facilitates Creative Living, a 7-week process
group offered each spring and fall at the Spiritual Enrichment
Center. Lynn is also a contributing writer to Redding's Record
Searchlight's Religion section of Saturday's newspaper for the
"Voices of Faith" column. In addition, like all ministers of
Religious Science, Reverend Lynn officiates at weddings, funerals
and christenings, in addition, to her Practitioner duties in behalf
of the church.

Rev.
Pam Sanchez
Staff Minister (Retired)
Pam moved to Redding and became a
member of the Spiritual Enrichment Center in 1983. She became a Licensed
Practitioner in 1992 and received her Ministerial License in 1997. She
served as the main minister for the Center for Positive Living in Mt.
Shasta from 1998 to 2000. Pam commenced her Pastoral Care service at
Mercy Medical Center in July 2000 and with Redding Medical Center's
program in June 2002. Pam retired from her day job in April 2003 after
being employed for 30 years as a Supervisor with the State Department of
Rehabilitation. Pam served individuals in vocational rehabilitation
working with persons with disabilities.
Rev Pam serves the Spiritual Enrichment Center community as a "retired"
staff minister. That means, she is not formally serving as a member of
the practitioner team, however, in her ministerial duties she provides
to the community prayer, counseling and many of the duties performed by
a member of the practitioner team.
Ministry: Reverend Pam is an ordained minister of Religious
Science. All ordained ministers of Religious Science hold the
ministerial designation for life, a special recognition of the
consciousness and "calling" in one's life for spiritual service and
practice.
Rev Pam serves the community of the Spiritual Enrichment Center as a
Staff/Pastoral Care Minister. As a Pastoral Care Minister, Reverend Pam
not only serves the individuals and families of the Center, but also the
larger community present at Shasta Regional Medical Center. She formerly
served as a Chaplain for the Redding Police Department on a voluntary
basis.
At the Shasta Regional Medical Center, Pam visits patients and their
families within the hospital/critical care setting, ministering to
whatever needs they have throughout their healing process. This service
includes providing active support through listening and being with
people. Spiritual and emotional support work together to create and
provide a healing environment to ease stress, confusion and isolation.
Reverend Pam also provides coordination and referral to other resources
to assist patients in obtaining the very best possible care.
Reverend Pam oversees the Congregational Support Seva Team which
provides support, most often in the form of meals, to members and
friends of the church who are going through a time of transition such as
illness, the death of a family member, the birth of a new baby or other
such demanding times of transition. You can connect with this service

Reverend Pam is responsible for the oversight of spiritual practices
held in the Meditation Pavilion and facilitates many of the practices
held there. She is available for discussion and instruction in regards
to meditation and facilitates classes for learning and practicing
meditation throughout the year.

Rev.
Sharon Kennedy
Staff Minister
Rev. Sharon Waugh
Kennedy has been a member of the Shasta Community College faculty
for over 20 years, where she has provided personal, vocational and
academic counseling, along with teaching courses in personal
assessment, career choice, student success and special interest
courses in American Sign Language. She calls her combination of
dance and sign language “sign dancing” and uses it as a way of
expressing Spirit in motion. She has been involved with the
Spiritual Enrichment Center since the early 1980s and after her
family “left the nest,” became a minister in July of 2003.
Ministry:
Rev. Sharon is a certified meditation instructor and has recently
returned to her duties as Minister of Spiritual Practice. She is
responsible for scheduling practices in our meditation pavilion and
offers quarterly urban retreats using our beautiful grounds which
include nature trails along the wooded stream at the back of the
property. She also offers weekly “mindful walking meditations,”
monthly meditation instruction workshops and individual instructions
on different Spiritual Practices.
